The Guardian Deck
The Official Spam-
You first got a glimpse of them in Wayne Houchin's theory11 Artist Teaser video. Now, they're in your hands. Produced by theory11 and manufactured by the US Playing Card Co., the Guardian deck takes elements of ancient scriptural art and combines them with a modern, industrial design. This is shown in the heavenly chariot scene printed on the front of the box, and the powerful image of a Guardian angel printed on the backs of the cards. See the pictures to the left.
The Guardians piercing eyes stare down into the eyes of the fallen. His spear points as if to say, "Don't even think about getting up." From the intricate detail of the protective angels to the sleek color selection, this deck will draw additional awe to any effect, routine, and flourish. Every inch has been painstakingly worked on in both design and production to ensure the deck is truly flawless. We're perfectionists.
Printed on Bicycle's signature Air Cushion Finish, the deck allows you to perform and flourish with ease, and look frickin' awesome doing it. We know you'll dig them, because we use them on a regular basis.
Well, today is my birthday, and lucky me, we didn't have school today because of ice. I woke up, went downstairs, had breakfast, and I was in my room when my Mom came in and asked me if I wanted one of my presents now. I said sure, and she came in with a box. In it, six Guardian Decks! I anxiously ripped one open, and they... are... awesome.
I think the looks of this deck far surpasses anything I've ever seen. The Ace of Spades isn't as "grand" as I would expect from a custom deck, but it's still cool. The face cards are slightly "darker", and have silver mixed into them. The red pips are more of a blood red, and it looks really nice. The backs are great. Over at E, all of their custom decks revolve around the standard Rider Back with just different color schemes. The Theory11 crew, though, came up with something completely new. You've probably seen the pictures of them, but they look much cooler when they're sitting in your hands. They have white borders, which we all know is good for magic, but it also makes them look slightly more "professional", IMO.
I really like the feel of these cards. Upon first opening them, I could tell they weren't just normal Bikes. They weren't nearly as slippery, and had a kind of "rough" feel to them. Not in a bad way, though. They fanned just as nicely, and I think the slight roughness is an indicator that these will last longer than your normal Bikes... at least that's what they feel like to me.
I think these are priced perfectly at $4.95 a deck. Any less, and people would think they're just a cheap deck of cards, and anymore and people would think t11 was just after money. I have a feeling I'll be spending some of my own money on more of these.
Knowing the t11 crew, and considering that they allegedly tossed away 10,000 former Guardian Decks because they didn't feel just right, these cards are very high quality. I haven't performed with them yet, but I have messed around with them for a couple minutes, and they are some of the nicest cards I've ever felt. Here in a week ago after I've messed around with them some more, I'll update you guys on how they hold up.
Like I said before, I really don't know how durable these cards are. but, from my past experience with cards, and how they felt right off the bat, I have a suspicion that these will last slightly longer than your normal deck of Bikes. Once again, I'll keep you guys updated.
I think this is a great deck, and I'm glad I finally got some to try out. Everyone has always said they're great, and so far... they're right. Once these wear down, I'm probably going to end up buying some more, but we'll see. Overall grade:
8.5/10"Take it as you want, and once you have taken it, run with it my friend, run with it."
Great review, hit the nail on the head!Looking for something?

I'm glad that you love the Guardians too. I know that these are the only cards that I ever want to use. I agree with you 100% about everything that you said.
Thanks for the awesome review! I ordered some Guardians and Witness last night and just reading reviews of both of them make me so happy and look forward to when these arrive on my doorstep. Happy birthday! And I agree about the back design about the fact it looks awesome. I have about 3 shadow masters, one viper, one black tiger, and one old worn 1800 deck, when I review my Guardians, I think I'll spread all the cards in rows on top of each other so people can see what they look like side by side. I love the fact that these cards just look so professional, nice looking, and have a different back that is still symmetrical and has two awesome looking angels, while being completely different from normal bikes.
Thanks for the review. My only question now is... similar to most E decks, do Guardians have the site name on the box? With cards like my Shadow Masters I take a black sharpy and color over the Ellusionist portion. (It actually hides it rather well surprisingly.) I want to hide it so that my friends don't see "For more custom decks, visit www.Ellusionist.com" I just hope its not like that with Guardians. I don't mind the logo though like the 1800 decks. No one thinks anything of the logo at the bottom of the box.
Thanks for your compliments on my reviews... your money was well spent on your purchases. IMO, these cards are much more professional looking than any of E's cards. I think it's the white border that does it, but I can't be sure.
As for your question, yes... in a way. There is the t11 symbol on the bottom of the box where the white 11 is surrounded by the yellow circle... but it doesn't say the site name, so I wouldn't worry about it."Take it as you want, and once you have taken it, run with it my friend, run with it."
Alright, thanks! I don't mind the 11 logo at all.
No problem. The t11 logo, like you said, isn't that big of a deal. If anyone were to ask me about it, I would just tell them that I don't know why it's there"Take it as you want, and once you have taken it, run with it my friend, run with it."
