    Default Looking for a book...

I am looking for a book that relates to magic but not in the sense that I learn effects from it. I want something that tells of a lifestyle, story about magic, perhaps magic theory or understanding... but certainly not a book that teaches effects or sleights.

    Any ideas?

'Houdini on magic' is an excellent read. You will find anecdotes, little stories, bits of theory, advice, tips, and explanations of some wonderful illusions and escapology techniques as well as a bit of history.

Been doing magic for 13 years. I come and go.

The 2nd part of the book strikes more of what I'm looking for instead of the 1st part.

    I appreciate the suggestion!

check out Dai Vernon: A Biography by David Ben. It was a little dry at first but there are tons of amazing stories about vernon and his dedication to magic and card table artifice.

"Leave that mat at the door, where it belongs" - Lee Asher

Aaron, does the Gravity Half Pass work in space??

Definitely check out Magic in Theory by Peter Lamont and Richard Wiseman.

If you're able to find a copy (and if finances permit), grab Derren Brown's Absolute Magic as well. My favorite book on magic theory, by far.
