Put several performance videos of you doing original material that blows spectators away. Come up with new concepts and use them in your routines. If you get really good feedback from the spectators and magicians there is a chance you'll be asked into the UMC.

By the way, I just made all that up but it does sound like it's how it works... :D

answer them and turn it in. You have one chance so make it good, and great videos help a bunch too.
