I forgot where or if I even really read this which is why I'm asking this. Is it true that you should never film yourself doing Witness? I think I read that even though the effect is hard hitting in the moment, if you film it, the effect is incredibly easy to figure out just by watching the performance a few times. Is this true? I already ordered it cause it's killer, but I just wanna know if I'll ever be able to film myself doing it.

I think that you are right becasue i have found some videos on youtube. i watched them and i "think" i caught on how to do it. i am not 100% but, i think you are right. keep in mind i do not own witness.

I agree I would not film the effect. I would really hate to see this exposed. If a person was to watch it over and over again would probably catch on which is the truth with serveral effects sadly...

well most tricks are like that, if you watch an effect over and over youre probably going to figure it out eventually
thats why when i watch youtube videos, i watch them once, then comment if i need to, and i comment what my first reactions are in a spectaers point of view who doesnt know any magic
because some one can do a simple double lift and a snap change and then the effect is over, of course i know how to do it but does a spectater know how to do it? i dont think so, unless you watch it over and over, but if done in real life, you usually only see the effect once.
so its up to you, if you put it on film, you need to depend on what other people are going to say.
but on youtube, theres ALWAYS people out there, ready to ruin your performance video, which is why i delete their comments immediatly.

true, why do you think the preview doesn't have the whole effect, probably because it's easy to figure out for magicians

I knew the method after reading stuff about it, but I didn't know how to do it myself because I have such a narrow mind. However after YouTubing I found a full performance. Nothing against the performer but right there I knew how to do it. =/
