Why can't people just keep the info here?
Just keep the info safe on THIS forum. I know people want to give information to sound smart, but keep this stuff to yourself.

Exactly,
But people On the E forums are talking about T11 and Theory 11(.com)

If I remember right, didn't E ban pretty much all talking of Theory 11 due to the Buck Twins being part of it? And no don't post anything form this site on any other site, please. Keep what's said on this site and leave it at that. We don't need this site getting overcrowded also.

Overcrouded, if I do recall the forum crashed earlier due to the amount of people :D. But, what is said at theory 11 stays at theory 11.
Short and simple.

Let people talk, you can't build a community without talk. Sure more "noobs" will come, but without talk the kind of people you want here won't be able to find it, exclusivity has it's price.

Let's keep all discussion civil, friendly, positive, and professional. At theory11, our intent is to respect all of those that respect the art.
Already your passion shines through, but let's use that passion to move the magic community forward.

If the magic community was more inclusive than exclusive, I think we'd actually see less 'exposure' and mediocrity because people would be able to find proper magic resources easily without having to resort to YouTube or the such. Here's to hoping this site takes that initiative rather than becoming another elitist 'I bought my way in' society.

I thought this place was about the whole magic community.
How am I, a supporter of Ellusionist, supposed to feel at home here when every other thread/post is bashing Brad or the company?
"Oh yes, let's keep this hush hush so those dorks at E don't find out." That's very open-minded of you all.
I'd like to get behind this site and community, but I'm a little apprehensive due to the conduct I've already seen from many of the members.

We understand where you're coming from. Rest assured, we are doing everything in our power to diffuse all negativity and keep the positivity, creativity, optimism, and magic flowing.
We respect all of those that respect the art, and we believe we'll all need to work together as an industry to advance the artform.

Although I disagree with the way Ellusionist runs things, I feel people just bash them because other people are. Just like people at the De'vo forums would bash Dan and Dave and the people at the Dan and Dave forums would bash De'vo. Both are amazing artists with different styles, some people will prefer one style over another and wont be open minded enough to accept how someone does something. The only thing that can be done is to accept it and move on, be the better person by not thinking less of them for thinking less of you.

... Relax! We're not making fun of your mother here. There's two things you can do, come here or not come here. People will speak their mind on all kinds of different issues, just because you support one doesn't mean people should stop for you.

I like the way that nobody could find this out, unless they knew about it. No exposurer is just going to stumble upon this on accidentally, this website is hidden from google, and all the trick names are hidden from google. Needless to say, unless you straight out say theory 11, a theory 11 logo is okeydokes

P.S. I really hope everybody else does the same. I'm hoping this place stays as underground as possible!

Agreed. Everything being a "super duper top secret elitist underground" is what I dislike about Ellusionist. I hope T11 is far more inclusive and doesn't need to resort to making everything seem Ghetto to sell magic.

come on you have to admit you guys don't like E you kinda screwed them over with houchin and bayme. E don't like Dan and dave plus they tried to screw you over by lowering their card prices around the time you released the site.

The good thing about this site is it doesn't matter if T11 doesn't like ellusionist. Their personal like/dislike for any site does not effect us, the visitors, because they are trying to create a more collaborative community rather than one with many segmented parts.

Guys you are deluding yourselves if you want to keep this secret. For the last MONTH theory 11 has been discussed on just about every single magic forum on the internet.
And who cares if this site is successful anyway? Are you scared some exposer will come along and somehow tell the world all our secrets? I have NOT ONCE been called on an effect by someone saying 'oh yeah, I saw that explained on the internet/youtube/whatever'. This will be no different, I don't doubt for a second that in a few weeks/months some attention seeker will post a tutorial for Panic or Distortion etc. but seriously, so few people watch those videos that it really doesn't make a difference when you are out performing.
Let the people flock here is what I say, in the long run it'll be better for you anyway. More customers means more money means more interest from other magicians means more products.
Enough with the 'everyone go away, T11 is my place now' attitude. The fact of the matter is that every magic forum offers slightly different things and they should all be open to everyone to visit and learn from.
This 'tribal' attitude is ridiculous and I for one would be happy to see it end here.

You are my new best friend, I try to explain this every time people start crying about exposure, it's just ridiculous. The people that look up how to do magic tricks, are not the kind of people you want to perform magic to anyway. Be cause they will heckle you and ruin it for anyone else there. Spend more time enjoying the community and less time crying about the nature of the internet.

Yay, I have a friend :p
Seriously though, exposure is not an issue, annoying, but not an issue. And if you want this site to stay what it needs is a good number of hits. Especially since it is just starting up.

I bought E stuff and told my friends now they all collect ghosts and know how I do everything! So this is gonna be my secret stash.

You know what? Exposure is like Global Warming. It's going to happen, we just want to slow it down so we can enjoy life without it.

You know what? Exposure is like Global Warming. It's going to happen, we just want to slow it down so we can enjoy life without it.
You can't slow it down, if anything, you would make less exposure if magic resources were easily available because people would need to spread it everywhere and it could just sit in one place for people to find, rather than people posting things 1000 places where everyone can find it. Making something exclusive just means everyone wants in, if you open things up, people don't really care about getting in because everyone can, and they don't even bother.
If anyone thinks magic is still exclusive, they are kidding themselves. Accept it, please, lets move on.
